About Joanna

Joanna Di Grigoli is a paragliding pilot and a passionate of flight. She had dreamed of flying since a young age and was already passionate about planes, birds... anything that flew.

At age 3, she saw a hang glider for the first time, and when she discovered paragliders when she was 12 years old, she knew right away that would be the way to make her dream come true.

In the year 2000, she was finally able to lift her feet off the ground at El Jarillo, in her native Venezuela.

Paragliding rapidly became her passion and she made progress in the sport at the same time as she was studying to become a translator at Universidad Central de Venezuela in Caracas.

Competitions became her way of life between 2002 and 2022, a period of time in which she took part in national and international competitions, World Cups, Pan-American Championships, and World Championships.

Cross country flying has always been her greatest passion for being the essence of free flight and for allowing her to discover new landscapes and cultures.

But not everything is kilometers and since 2012, Joanna has been doing hike and fly, a discipline that allows her to have a unique contact with nature and fly from remote places. For her, is a contemplative way of flying.

Her journey as team pilot began in 2005 with Gradient. Then, Joanna joined Gin Gliders in 2010 and flew with the company until 2022.

In 2023, Joanna joined Ozone Paragliders to continue her journey as professional pilot.

Besides paragliding, Joanna has also flown ultralights and done skydiving.

Joanna lives in Annecy, France, the paragliding meca.
